Piglet Gets an A!

I love Petunia but... she can be a monster. She has terrible separation anxiety, is extremely persistent and destructive. She will work all day to get what she wants. Even if that means her paws are bleeding from tearing up carpeting.

Today was her first day in the house by herself. I was concerned but told M that everything would be fine. We showed her the wee pad since we wouldn't be home until late and left it up to the universe.

Well, Miss Piglet made it through the day with flying colors. She held her poo until we came back, peed on her wee pad and didn't damage anything. I'm such a proud parent!

Pug Rage

I submit to you exhibit A - evidence of Petunia's wrath at not being able to get into my bedroom. Needless to say, she was not allowed to come with me to visit friends today.

Mission: Holiday Cards

Normally, Petunia is diligent about writing her cards for the neighbors early Christmas morning and delivering them personally. However, she's been distracted with hunger since we've cut her food down from 1/2 a cup twice a day to 1/3 a cup twice a day. Hey, at least she has a waist now.

We finally sat her down and she completed her cards and delivery. Good dog!

Pug Rage

Photo 1 is what I came home to today (photo 2 is what my bed normally looks like). Sometimes Petunia would knock off 1 pillow to sleep on but today, she must've been in a frenzy because the bed is a mess.

Follow the Snoring

If she doesn't greet you at the door barking, she's somewhere in the house snoring.

I snuck up the stairs, checked Doris', my, and then mom's bed, listened for the snoring and headed back to my room where I found her in the laundry basket. Adorable.

Day Off

Petunia sits patiently waiting to see the doctor. She is now a whopping 25.2 pounds. Note that on the poster hanging in the waiting room, pugs are supposed to weigh 14 to 18 pounds.

We've seen to nearly all the vets at Animal General and I really liked the one we had today. She offered great suggestions for controlling her weight and getting gunk out of her ears and anal sacs without being preachy and making us feel like bad parents - which I feel anyway. A huge chunk of money later, we were on our way with drops for her ears, antibiotics and less gunk in her butt. Don't worry, there's still junk in the trunk.

M had to work and Doris took me on all of my errands. TJMaxx, Target, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. We lamented on how we had to go to so many grocery stores for our food - at least 4. I also cleaned the bathroom, did 4 loads of laundry and prepared dinner. Doris helped. She put the potato pancakes in the toaster oven. Then, I pack up leftovers and washed dishes afterwards. Oh, and cleaned and treated Petunia's eyes and ears. I was beat.

M and Doris cracked open the Wii sports. Then mom got in on it - truly hilarious. Mom was having some trouble with bowling and M shared her secret trick - pointed toes!
