I Heart: Jersey Knit Whitney Skirt

I saw this skirt possibly last spring and it had not gone on sale and actually disappeared from the site. It FINALLY came back in the sale section and while more than I cared to spend, was $40 cheaper and everything I love (except dry clean only). As you know, I love JCrew sale/ outlet- style, sale prices, color, service and the ability to return something at any time - even years later. I love jersey knit. I want to live in jersey knit - soft, stretchy, comfortable, oftentimes machine washable (but not this time). It fits me perfectly and just hits my knees (this model is a bit too tall because the skirt looks short on her). It has small pleats in the front along the waist and POCKETS! And the flippies in the back. I love them. I love how it is slimming, feminine, comfortable and classic. I think I may buy an extra one (or 2 or 3!) in case I damage the first one... M, you always talk about buying something you like in bulk, don't you?

Got a Student ID, Get 15% Off JCrew

It pays to read the fine print. I just got my JCrew package of goodies and was reading the invoice and this little card and it turns out that if you buy something in a JCrew store and show a valid student ID, you get 15% off! Fabulous!

And, "sour lemon" really means flourescent yellow. I'm going to try and wear it with this printed green cardigan but I think it is going to have to be returned.

Shopping Accident: JCrew

M, "I was thinking of wanting to be at the beach, and then thinking of swimsuits and then I realized that I just wanted to read a JCrew catalog." One of my favorite quotes from Best in Show, "We are *so* lucky. We are *so* lucky to have been raised amongst catalogs."

And then it appeared, the beautiful JCrew catalog and there I was on the sale site. Budget, what? I had written an email to JCrew about how I liked the old sale site better but this one's fine. It will do. I got 2 cute ruffly tanks to layer under jackets and cardigans in acqua and yellow ($12.99 each!), a bright blue Jackie cardigan (love these cardigans) and a cute navy jacket (double-breasted with tie belt). Fun, colorful, great for work AND machine washable. Note: for some reason their pants are either too big or give me wedgies. I get pants at Theory, H&M or Zara.

The other great thing about JCrew is that THEY TAKE THEIR STUFF BACK! I remember at Wellesley, W would just bring any old ratty JCrew thing and return it. Then last season, I ordered a bunch of sale stuff marked no exchange no refund, even hemmed the pants and they gave me a full refund. Love them. Can't wait to hit the outlet at Woodbury Commons in September.
