New Vocab Word: Otorhinolaryngology

My primary care doctor totally rocks. I mean totally rocks. She's about 10 blocks from me and takes me the same day I call. I don't know how she does it but she is zippity fast. I'm in and out and I have all my meds usually because she gives me samples. She also does Ob/Gyn, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine so I get it all from her. Oh, and great restaurant recommendations. I LOVE her. I'm going to see her at 5 PM today.

I do realize that I have this CHRONIC sinusitus problem. Doris, "is it your allergy thing AGAIN?!" My ears are clogged, I can't hear. I'm coughing up my insides and there's a mucus rave going on (like in the Mucinex commercials). So, I'm actually going to do something about it and see an otorhinolaryngology specialist (ear, nose and throat). I checked the list from my insurance against NY Magazine's top doctors. 7 matched. I was only able to get through to like 3. And only 1 could see me before October. He seems pretty awesome: med school UPenn, residency in surgery at Beth Isreal, a prof of oto at NY Med College, and affiliated with NY Eye and Ear Infirmary. I have an appointment on 9/23. Maybe I'll need a nose job like Ashley Simpson and Jennifer Aniston!

  1. Yeesh, finally! You know, one of my attendings recommended a stronger antiobiotic. I don't know if you've been on augmentin before. Also, you can try a ciprofloxacin. Good luck!
